What is Osteopathy, and how can it help me?
Osteopathy is a gentle form of manual medicine that focuses on total body health, by treating all the systems of the body framework.
As an Osteopath, our main objective is to enhance the body’s ability to self-heal by having a positive effect on the body’s musculoskeletal, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic systems, to promote efficient and healthy body function.
Osteopaths do not simply concentrate on treating the ‘problem area’, instead we search for the primary cause of your pain.
We then use a wide variety of (individual tailored) manual techniques including soft tissue massage, muscle energetic stretching techniques, gentle joint mobilisation techniques, HVLA (joint cracking), postural adjustments and gentle indirect (cranial) techniques, to provide symptomatic relief.
Additionally, we are able to advise you how to best manage your body and behaviours, to reduce the risk of the pain and discomfort coming back.
